now I lay me down to sleep,
the king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep best in the center groove.
My human can hardly move!

I’ve trapped her legs, she’s tucked in tight,
and here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
’til morning comes and “I want food!”

I sneak up slowly to begin
my nibbles on my human’s chin.
She wakes up quickly, I have sharp teeth
and my claws I will unsheath.

For the morning’s here and it’s time to play.
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
this human person that I see.

The one who hugs me and holds me tight
And sacrifices her bed at night.

I forgot to mention that I do pet sitting (dogs and cats) 5 to 10 miles from where I live. I am also a member of Pet Sitters International. I delight in the magazine Pet Sitters world and the numerous articles.

Thanks for the cat’s prayer. I had never seen that one before. I have four cats of my own and a dog. In a previous company I found a dog’s prayer. My spouse and I own a cat boarding facility on our property. He works a full time job away from home. Is it all best to put this poem on our website?

Hi again from Rhodes, Greece! It’s so heartwarming and refreshing to read your fantastic blog, Ingrid! I really love it here, it’s so beautiful, the islands of the Aegean are a paradise of beauty… but all the street cats living a life of hardships break my heart… I feel so helpless and I know they ALL – EACH and every one of them – are worthy of a life full of love like our beloved kitties do.
Right now Pippi, a sweet cat who looks a lot like Zoe (but smaller and with darker patches), is sleeping in the house… She comes every day, is very clean and healthy, and certainly neutered as she never has kittens. I’m so happy to know my sweetheart (who lives here) will take care of her after I leave! She is a lucky cat here… I think she should have another family too, because she in some cases disappears for a couple days and comes back well fed and clean… and a couple days ago, when I kissed her sweet little head, I think I could smell boiled meat (another kitchen? :)).

Anna, good to hear from you! sounds like Pippi adopted you and your boyfriend. She gives “cheating” a whole new meaning!

This was fantastic!!!

I just resolved a mystery!! I get your monthly newsletter but for some reason your blog messages are not concerning me and I am embarrassed to say I think they haven’t been coming for quite some time!

I am re-signing up and I just added you directly to my blog Roll on my blog (that is shown on my blog page)….

Hopefully this will rectify the problem!! I’m not “Live” on Facebook typically like numerous so I don’t typically see updates there!

Have a fantastic holiday weekend!!!
